‘Fiber To The Home’ program
‘Fiber To The Home’ program (FTTH) in the towns of Halton Hills, Acton, and Georgetown
HSN Engineering worked with our client and collaborated with Bell Canada to prepare the engineering design of aerial attachments of Fibre optic cable on utility poles as part of ‘Fiber To The Home’ program (FTTH) in the towns of Halton Hills, Acton, and Georgetown. The scope of work included lashing FOC on new strand and over lashing on existing stand for Bell Canada on over 18Km of lines or over 350 utility poles.
The engineering design included performing a field survey of the utility poles to capture GPS locations of poles and utility attachments and pole location, performing pole loading analysis using SPIDACalc and Quick pole software, calculations of conductor’s sag, tension, clearances, and separation.
The engineering design was completed within several months of receiving our client’s instruction to proceed with the work. Construction permits were issued, and construction was successfully completed.
